Dear diary,
I am very tired... I do not know why, most probably because my period is coming, anyways, I would like to start what I call the semester break diary now.
The opposition party have won, incredibly surprising, this means that a new government would be in power after more than 6 decades, and a 93 year old would be taking over the role as a Prime Minister, best of all, that 93 year old have more than a decade of Prime Minister-ing experience previously (imagine his resume, 2 times Prime Minister!), which is useful in leading a country, given that he does not topple over and die from old age before that happens...Poor dude was literally trembling as the long ass traditional procedural prayer was read, his eyes also looked like a lizard by the end of the day due to exhaustion... and age.
I've started reading the sleep book that I borrowed from the library the day before yesterday, at first I thought it was a scientific book designed in a way that the layman could understand, since the first few pages seemed like it, easily digestible and understood, then BOOM. All the technical terms came, had to google what every single word meant. Didn't understood much, from what I've deduced, is that we all have a circadian rhythm that when without external environmental stimuli, is slightly longer than one day, however, the circadian rhythm heavily relies on external environment such as light and temperature, that is why it is bumped back into 24 hours. Our eyes have a ganglion cluster of cells which is not the rod and cones, those cluster cells are responsible for the circadian rhythm as it helps detect light which signifies daytime, inducing cortisol levels to rise and inhibiting the production of sleepy hormones, these cells are the most receptive to lights in the blue wavelength spectrum, therefore, exposing oneself to electronic devices in which their screens are made up of red green blue lights will most probably send our circadian rhythm system out of whack.
Having constant 8 hours of sleep is not enough to keep our brains in tip top shape. We have to respect that circadian rhythm and sleep at a set schedule. Having said that, research found out night shift workers despite having enough sleep, however having irregular sleep schedule due to work during the weekdays and social responsibilities during the weekends have severely fucked stuff up their system, making them more prone to shit diseases such as diabetes, obesity, cancer, cardiac problems and the list goes on, that's when it lead me to think about my significant other, no wonder he is on the fluffy side despite his attempts to cut back, which makes me kind of mad because I have warned him repeatedly about it that a regular sleep schedule is insanely important for a shit ton of things, he would try to have normal sleep schedule for a while, then relapse back. Infuriating.
More on the brain book, being sleep deprived or having poor quality of sleep can have the same effect on your daily performance, with the impact as significant as drinking alcohol...which is interesting.
I guess the summary is, regular sleep schedule, super important.
Anyways, I tried the black henna golecha yesterday, I made a mess, it was a failure, I cut too away from the tip of the cone therefore the hole are too big for me to do any intricate design, even simple designs are really hard.
As you can see here, the end product looked like a four year old attempted it...Oh but I do love how it contrast with my skin and how it dyed my skin, it's quite pretty indeed, in the end I grew to love it a lot.
This failure brought me to a rather depressive mood though, I felt like I couldn't even accomplish simple task, this is not the only thing I tried that was simple and I failed at it, but then I decided, hey, it's better being a happy failure than a sad one, thus I got over it, and was so unsatisfied with the results that I bought three more of the cones, but it cost cheaper for three of them than this current cone, I guess I got ripped off...

When the paste dries up, you can peel it off, that is the fun part, pretty neat huh. Flaky remnants of it has been recorded in the form of an image.
Also, after applying this to my skin, I found out that black henna is quite dangerous as there have been numerous cases where people had horrible reactions to it due to the black dye chemical allergic reaction, which involves horrible looking inflammation with pus and the whole shibang, which can lead to scarring. I assume it's the caucasian genes since the cases mostly affected caucasians and I got off not as much as a minor itch, although admittedly I got pretty scared.
Anyways, I reached home yesterday, the day before yesterday I couldn't sleep, and my significant other suggested that we go back now, and that time "now" was 4am, it was pretty exciting, dangerous too, but without the danger it wouldn't be exciting would it?
He chickened out, so we started our journey yesterday instead.
When we reached to his house only to find out no one was home, he called his dad, but his dad won't be home for hours, then the mother, no one picked up, so we ate at a really traditional looking hawker place called ruby, I regret not taking pictures of the surrounding. But I took some of the food.
After lunch we went back to wait for his mom to come home, which they just did.
It's nice being home, reverting to the sort of spoiled little kid role with a fridge stock full of quality ready made food.
Just noting that I saw a bird trying to crack something open with its beak and saw a cat chasing a squirrel at my house compound, I've been alive for so long and this is the first time I've saw these things, more over in one week.
I did a bunch of stuff today, vacuumed the car, washed dishes, folded a shit ton of clothes, practiced the henna again (on paper this time, I don't have enough limbs to practice on), HayDay-ed watched the election thingy, took a nap... I guess that's all for today. It's time for me to sleep anyway, want to reset my circadian rhythm for optimum sleep quality, but man I sure don't feel like sleeping.
Oh, here's some of the stuff my mom made today and yesterday, the pork ribs is amahhhhzing. She's an amazing cook, despite sometimes being a lil bit psychotic...but all is forgiven :>
She was in a making stuff mood, it's already late night and she just decided to make chocolate cake and traditional yam cake. She's a pretty fast cook too.
