I heart japan

Dear diary,

One week ago, I came back from a study tour to Kanagawa Japan. I love it. No regrets. The memories, the weather, the stuff I see, the food I ate, ESPECIALLY the food I ate, will forever be in a special place in my heart. 7/5 would go back there again..

Sadly, I didn't keep a record on what I did every single day. But I have the gist of it, in pictures and some random note taking along the way.

Actually you know what, I think I'm gonna skip this diary since there's just wayy too much to write about. I'll just blabber stuff I can think at the top of my head, and then it's picture time.

Kura Zushi, is where I love to go and eat, I would eat it everyday if time allows. It's not expensive either, I've eaten like 800 yen ramen anyways, might as well eat 8 plates of 100 yen sushi, it's filling too.The variety offered here is just something you can't get in my country. I do agree it's probably not the best sushi in town, I can taste the quality difference, the rice is a bit lumpy, but honestly, I don't sweat the small stuff. 100 yen? That's cheaper than what we get here, not to mention the variety, and the portion of the seafood. It's fun too. It's an experience, just, really something you can't get around here.

This is one of my top 2 favorite, thick cut god knows what fish. It's super umami.

I had trouble taking out the sushi at first, and since I don't speak any Japanese, I had to ask a middle aged couple myself with google translate, they were super helpful and really nice

This is squid... I think, didn't like this one very much

I'm not even sure what I'm eating at this point

Finally tried sea urchin, I didn't really liked the taste at first, but later on as it stayed longer in my mouth I decided I like it ^^ Really taste like the sea, salty and... it just tastes like the sea

The fish for this piece still has a few hard tendon that's hard to chew, but overall it's goooood
Middle aged couple gave me this before they left, it's a free gift from the shop, where if you slot in 5 sushi plates, you get a chance to win this key chain thingy. I was having a slightly bad day that day, but this, this nice-ness hospitality just brightens up my day, or night, at the time. When you read travel blogs about Japanese hospitality, yeah, they're real. There are also jackasses too don't get me wrong, but overall, they're pretty nice.

It good.

My lawd, this is my fav, slightly smoked salmon. I haven't fully tried all of their dishes yet though
Another thing about the Japanese is their service industry, like, waiters and cashiers. They are super polite, would always greet you with a smile on their faces, almost robotic though. They know I don't speak an ounce of Japanese, yet they insist on finishing the sentence in Japanese that they always say when a customer pays or interact with them. Even though I'm embarrassingly slow with the coins, they would still just wait patiently there and help me out. Damn. Malaysians can learn a thing or two or three or hundreds from them.

Safety in Japan is also great. I can walk alone in an alley, of course it's still scary for me, but overall I felt super safe. You can tell it really is so as well, you can see little old ladies coming out of dark alleys at night without needing to worry much.

Let's talk about their grocery store.

Sashimi and raw big ass octopuses for sale at a 50% discount in Aeon all over Japan after 8pm. Nuff said. I gorged myself silly most nights with sushi, and for breakfast as well. It's great, the quality is obviously not as good as the conveyor belts one, but, good enough for me, After all, I did put it in the fridge over night so...

Nuff said.

Sadly the only Sunday that have no classes is the day of the Typhoon, not to mention the day of the excursion around Mt Fuji was super rainy so we didn't get to see no gad dang mt fuji, ohwell, but it's alright I guess. I did go to a bunch of places in the end.

Below I will showcase some photos that I personally liked

Before that, special shout out for convenience store fried potato and chicken karaage, they're cheap, evenly crispy, always hot, deliciously soft and juicy inside.

Oh Malaysian Airlines, thank you for the leg space offered.(Note Sarcasm)

This, is a Starbucks

Yeah, they have multiple storeys of adult magazines and discs

If I have time and moonies, I'm definitely gonna just study Japanese intensively, and live in Japan for one or two months, or one year, who knows, and try out all they have to offer, such as onsens, cultural trips, services such as host clubs and Especially Omakase, and expensive meals. I feel like, I've been there for 10 days, yet I've barely scratched the surface of what they have to offer, due to many reasons, budget, the tour planning, and language barrier. I feel, if I know Japanese, I could unlock a much bigger world that I can access to in Japan.

I'll put that in my dreams list.
