Media and homeless people
Media have always portrayed what we wanted to see, including the stories relating to homeless people. We are always seeing footage of kind Samaritans offering help to these street inhabitants and they always received the help graciously.
People who walks pass them without giving them any heed were considered heartless or selfish.
And I think that's kinda dumb.
What the media didn't show is some homeless people, they aren't really right in the head. The truth about these homeless, why they are homeless in the first place, sometimes are due to some mental illnesses that not many people can handle, that's why they're thrown to the streets.
Not saying that throwing them in the streets is the right thing to do, sometimes the lack of infrastructure to contain these people aren't there, home isn't a suitable place to hold mentally insane people, especially homes with vulnerable children.
There are many cases of good kind hearted Samaritans who tried offering help to the homeless, only to be spit on the face and called nasty things, and those are not worse case scenarios, there are some cases some people who died trying to help them.
A lot of them are drug addicts, some of them has HIV. Some of them see imaginary things that aren't there and starts screaming at thin air, some shit themselves in their pants.
Many times when restaurants chases away homeless people, the public will condemn it to the ends of the Earth, what most people don't understand is, it's not really nice to have a family meal with a someone who shit themselves in their pants and are staring at your necks mumbling under their breathe.
Repetition is key, some homeless people no longer have control over their minds.
It's not the homeless's fault, people who don't help them aren't selfish. There's no clean cut right and wrong, black and white, sometimes things are grey-ish. It's just how it is.
Not saying all homeless are insane, there are some who's there due to unfortunate circumstances, they might be able to get back on their feet with the right help.
But the whole point is, give food and beverage establishments a break, they're just taking care of the customers's safety by not taking any chances.
Also, proceed to help with caution, safety first.
